Summary:
The Lab technician role is a versatile position that requires the ability to multi-focus and tackle a host of tasks simultaneously.
This position is responsible for operating all lab equipment and producing results at a rapid rate.
The lab technician is also responsible for reporting out results to shift leadership in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Perform tests on production material using various analytical instruments such as:
Viscometers, titration devices, scales, moisture analyzers, etc Perform operator level routine maintenance of lab equipment:
inspecting, cleaning, etc.
Data entry:
Enter data into software programs such as excel and Minitab and InfinityQS Willingness to train on new laboratory equipment and learn new testing methods.
Demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to work together with others on shift.
Demonstrate the ability to work safely in a chemical laboratory environment.
Monitor lab data daily and notify process control technician and management of any data trends that are out of specification.
Comply with daily lab cleaning schedule.
Perform cycle inventory counts as needed.
Must have the ability to lift up to 20 lbs and the ability to kneel/squat for short periods of time.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Experience using MS:
Office, Power Point, and Excel preferred.
Preferred experience working in a laboratory setting with chemical solvents.
Preferred experience with titration lab equipment is a plus but not required.
